Territory Development Manager- DC & MD

Job Description
We are seeking a Territory Development Manager for the Washington and Maryland territory. The Territory Development Manager will work alongside the agency supplier partner's local sales team as well as their distributor partners to drive successful sales, volume growth, distribution, brand presence and positioning of the supplier's portfolio. This role will not have direct reports and will maintain regular business interaction with client stakeholders including the Sales Director & Distributor Manager.

Here's just a small sample of what you'll be doing:
  • Distributor Management. Responsible for leading the business performance of (2) Diageo Beer Company distributors across (2) states. Planning and leading wholesaler execution through achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets. This is primarily achieved through effectively leading, planning, directing, motivating, training, and measuring distributor organizations.
  • Territory Management. Overseeing marketing complexities with high responsibility for Diageo Beer Company portfolio including FMBs & RTDs where necessary. Owning On/Off-Premise, Chain/Independent, and local marketing investments including innovation.
  • Financial Responsibility. Deliver agreed upon AOP depletion targets. Meet monthly and quarterly KPI targets. Ensure alignment on all programs and goals. Lead trade and other price spends to agreed-upon budgets. Develop sales forecasts/budgets using market insights and analyzed trends.
  • In-Market Execution. Drive the sell-in and execution of Diageo Beer Company products supported by impactful programming and activation. Pursue new draft opportunities for distribution in the On Premise. Maintain store shelf standards and inventory, as well as effectively execution brand building and POS standards Off Premise.
  • Agency Expectations. Maintain open communication with field and Inspira Marketing HQ teams. Manage and balance budgets for monthly reconciliations. Utilize online database and systems to track territory sales progress. Ensure compliance of all alcoholic beverage regulations

The physical demands of this role require the following:
  • Bending, squatting, crouching and reaching
  • Frequent lifting and moving cases of product and other objects of 50 pounds or more.

Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Extensive beer, wine and/or spirits commercial experience, preferably with wholesaler management
  • Strong knowledge of distributor operations as well as On- and Off-Trade execution standards
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of collaborating and accountability for performance management
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must live in assigned territory with access to reliable transportation - and willing to travel within assigned sales region
  • Must have valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle with clean driving record/background check
  • Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently
  • Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Manage administrative tasks with attention to meeting agency compliance guidelines and standards

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this job classification is between $75,000.00-$85,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service, brand program, and geographic location. This job classification is bonus eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
