Looking for a challenge with major growth potential? Hotel Tango is seeking a sales professional in the state of Michigan. Initial base of sales & distribution has been laid, ready to take it to the next level.
TITLE:  Michigan/Ohio Market Manager 
TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt
COMPENSATION: Salaried + Bonus Potential; Total Range: $45-70,000
LOCATION: State of Michigan & Ohio

Market Manager will be responsible for achieving all volume and distribution goals and increasing brand awareness for the Hotel Tango portfolio of brands through all channels of trade in the states of Michigan & Ohio. 

  • Build and leverage sincere relationships with retailers in assigned market
  • Execute key account calls alone and with other employees and wholesaler personnel 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with sales team consultants at wholesaler in your market
  • Nurture and grow sales in existing Hotel Tango retail accounts
  • Gain new Hotel Tango retail accounts via networking and cold-calling
  • Train new and existing accounts on the Hotel Tango brand and it’s unique proposition
  • Entertain retailers with the goal of creating personal connections and brand ambassadors 
  • Target, plan and execute on and off premise events, trainings, promotions and samplings by working with retailer and wholesaler personnel
  • Set up and execute creative sales incentives for employees and retail accounts, with wholesaler approval, to drive additional sales in the market 
  • Work with Director of Civilian Sales, to manage wholesaler; set up crew drives, distributor incentives, and attend GSM’s and meetings
  • Conduct required in-field work sessions with wholesaler representatives 
  • Represent Hotel Tango at any community outreach events and retail events as needed
  • Provide market feedback to executive leadership for the betterment of the brand 
  • Use data systems to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights
  • Manage assigned budgets including incentives, travel and entertainment and other departmental expenses
  • Keep and communicate a weekly planning and recap worksheet in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate knowledge in overseeing and managing a personal and professional calendar
  • Be a professional brand ambassador for Hotel Tango in all aspects

  • Candidate must be eligible to attain alcohol permits in all assigned markets
  • Because of the nature of this position, all candidates must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or tourism is preferred
  • Must pass company provided WSET training in first 90 days
  • Must be able to gain access to military bases
  • Clean driving record to qualify for company insurance 
  • Must submit to a background check
  • Ability to bend, lift, carry 50+ pounds
  • Ability to walk/or stand for several hours
  • Local travel required up to 75% 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Mac computing 
  • Must be skilled in an outside sales role
  • Must be skilled in the art of spirits and cocktail creation
  • Well organized and ability to work both within a team and independently 
  • Results oriented, innovative, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work environment
  • 3+ years of experience at the supplier or wholesaler level in a similar position
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the adult beverage industry 

  • Candidate will be measured on ability to accomplish the following KPI’s: 
  • Sales volume growth in assigned territory
  • Number of retail account visits executed each week 
  • Number of new buying accounts
  • Number of new points of distribution
  • Community outreach events
