Position Summary
The National Accounts Director of Value, Club & Military Sales reports to the VP of Sales - Large Format and is responsible for managing key accounts, working and fostering connections with third-party Key Account Managers. A significant focus is on enhancing our partnership with KDP through collaboration and strategic business planning with their key account teams, as well. This position emphasizes retail sales expansion, prioritizes account satisfaction, and focuses on driving revenue growth. The Director is responsible for crafting strategic initiatives tailored to value, club and military format account management, cultivating strong relationships with retailers, coordinating internally with DSD sales management and externally with strategic distribution partners.


Collaboration across various departments is key to aligning company objectives with account needs. The Director oversees the account management processes, implements effective account retention strategies, and addresses any issues swiftly to ensure the highest level of account satisfaction and category growth in national accounts.

Principal Duties

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic value, club and military format account management plans to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
  • Focuses on enhancing partnerships with KDP through collaboration with their key account teams.
  • Analyze account needs and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align account management strategies with company offerings.
  • Prepare and present account management reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Monitor and manage account management budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to promote the company's services and network with potential accounts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of DSD beverage account management principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze market data utilizing IRI/Circana, Neilsen, and VIP.
  • Ability develop and manage strategic account management plans and budgets.
  • Ability to develop and deliver a fact-based sales presentation.
  • Proficiency in CRM/TPM software, Excel, PowerPoint and account management tools.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail key account management, with a focus on value, club and military format accounts for a Beverage or FMCG Food brand
  • At least 2+ years in a senior account management role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding account management targets.
  • Experience managing and leading a high-performing account management team.
  • Strong understanding of Isotonic beverage market trends and competitive landscape.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
