Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits currently seeks an experienced full-time Marketing Services Project Manager based out of our Stamford, CT office. This is a hybrid role and offers a high degree of flexibility with just 2 days per week in the office.

Reporting to the Marketing Services Account Manager, the Project Manager acts as the liaison between our Strategic Accounts (grocery, drug, mass, club) customer marketing team, our internal Creative team and the brand marketing teams. This individual is responsible for the management and execution of all off premise retail chain program activity. As an internal extension of the Strategic Accounts team, they will partner with customer marketing on the development and completion of all custom shopper marketing program initiatives for our leading grocery ( Kroger, Publix, Albertsons/Safeway) , drug (Walgreens, CVS) , mass (Target and Walmart), Chain Liquor (Total Wine and More) and club channels (Costco). Working with our internal design team to ensure all projects, including point of sale, digital assets, displays, coupons etc., are executed on time, error free, and align with our key retailer and brand strategies. This role has a strong relationship building aspect and must understand balancing the sales business needs with brand objectives.

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of previous shopper marketing Project Management experience with established track record including experience working autonomously
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of consumer/shopper marketing landscapes and channel dynamics to develop effective commercial programs that meet retailer buyer needs
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting information both orally and in writing
  • Experience working with printers and the production process
  • Experience managing relationships with outside vendors through the sourcing of displays and premiums
  • Ability to take and give feedback in an open, direct manner
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High energy, flexible team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Positive energy, can-do spirit, and a diplomatic & customer-service attitude are a must!
  • Must be a self-motivated individual who can identify issues/opportunities for improvement and be proactive in addressing them

Responsibilities :
  • Manage all custom shopper and ad-hoc program requests for the Strategic Accounts team, delivering on-time, error-free, high-quality marketing and sales materials
  • Responsible for development, production, coordination of logistics for all point-of-sale, displays, premiums and coupons related to customer marketing programs
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with Strategic Accounts and Brand on the development of new on equity, omni-channel, shopper, and retailer focused marketing programs
  • Represent and support both the brand and sales teams' interests, strategies and positioning to creative team
  • Project manage in-house design team using our project management system, create appropriate timelines to ensure all projects stay on schedule, and accurately track time spent on each project.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, sales and legal to ensure consensus around project scope, timing, and legal viability
  • Effectively and proactively communicate issues that can result in project cost or deliverable timing changes
  • Build expertise on our key brands: product differentiators, competitive landscape, etc.
  • Build expertise on our key retailers: preferred point of sale elements, key sales times, shopper behavior/insights, path-to-purchase preferences, sales data, and trends
  • Work with legal to ensure all creative and programming is aligned with the latest legal requirements including keeping up with state laws and regulations regarding coupons being utilized in-market
  • Manage relationships with outside print and display vendors, brand teams, and designers
  • Escalate potential problems and recommend solutions to address issues and improve processes
  • Evaluate and proof creative work and provide feedback for revision as needed
  • Seek solutions and new program/promotional ideas and be a voice to bridge the gap between Sales and Brand priorities
  • Clarify and control project scope by engaging appropriate discipline leads and asking detailed questions of the Strategic Accounts team to gain clarity around deliverables and project needs
  • Source and negotiate pricing for specific programs/promotional items, finding options to reduce cost and increase quality
  • Lead weekly status meeting with the Strategic Accounts team and participate in customer presentations, sales calls, team meetings and store site visits
  • Set up offers and codes for all paper and digital coupons and rebates for both program and non-program initiatives and pull redemption information when requested
  • Review, manipulate, cross-reference and code Strategic Account invoices
