Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits seeks an Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis (Wine) reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis. This position offers a high degree of flexibility between working remotely and working in Stamford, CT. Candidates must live commutable to our Stamford, CT headquarters to join in-person meetings or events from time-to-time.

The Analyst is a business partner to the low lux wine and fine wine marketing teams and marketing leaders. The individual is responsible for P&L management, analysis, and providing proactive insights on decisions to track and improve brand performance. This role will exercise independent judgment and discretion to manage brand profitability through risk and opportunity identification and will own certain areas in reporting company-wide results. This position must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal (FP&A, accounting, marketing, production, supply chain) and external stakeholders (suppliers).

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Finance
  • Two- three years' experience in financial analysis/planning with experience in brand planning and commercial finance; CPG experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to identify issues/opportunities for improvement and be proactive in addressing them
  • Advanced analytical mind to synthesize data and develop innovative solutions and recommendations to provide to senior leaders
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with senior leaders and discuss issues and plans

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for select low-lux & fine wine brands including preparation of brand P&Ls
  • Monitor KPIs for volume, mix, revenue, costs, and marketing expenditures and bridge variances between actuals and budget/forecast
  • Conduct regular gross profit and spending reviews to identify all risks and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Collaborate with brand teams to track, analyze, and assist in managing Brand Spending/Programming
  • Perform month-end/year-end close responsibilities including preparation and tracking of accruals and analysis of actual results versus budget
  • Key FP&A contributor to the month-end close process including submitting close journal entries and reclasses, preparing account reconciliations, and investigating variances to the latest forecast and prior year
  • Ad hoc analysis to assist management in the strategic decision-making process
