This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Strategy & Insights. The Associate Manager, Strategy & Insights will be fully integrated into the business unit and will play a strategic role in delivering consumer and marketplace insights. The person in this position will serve as a key business partner for the marketing team helping diagnose business problems and bring forward relevant consumer and cultural insights in order to d rive business growth.

ABOUT THE JOB
  • Be the voice of consumer and inject consumer insights across all aspects of the business, including but not limited to innovation, brand strategy, communication strategy, creative development, product and packaging, in-market execution and assessment
  • Influence general management and the cross-functional team members by actively and persuasively representing the consumer and marketplace dynamics to inform business strategies and tactics
  • Consult with brand teams in order to develop and execute research plans grounded in understanding of the business challenges and opportunities
  • Integrate and triangulate data and insight from multiple sources (primary, secondary and syndicated) to drive holistic business recommendations and strategy development
  • Translate data and information into clear, actionable, and impactful insights and business recommendations utilizing best in class "story telling" and engaging communication
  • Actively participate and provide thought leadership in all aspects of the business unit and broader S&I functional issues
  • Collaborate with other functional leads and agency partners to ensure consumer understanding and insight is integrated with the needs of all constituencies (e.g. R&D, Creative, Sales, Promotions, Legal, Advertising and Media Agencies, etc.
  • Lead relationships with current and new research suppliers to maximize the potential of our research learning
  • Drive the evolution of the Insights function through experimentation with new approaches and an innovative mindset

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • B.S./B.A. (required) Marketing, Business, Psychology or related field
  • M.S./MBA (preferred) in Marketing, Business. Psychology or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in market research, consumer insights or related area. Consumer packaged goods experience preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled at building relationships and collaborationBroad understanding of marketing research techniques and applications, including syndicated, custom for both base business and innovation
