We’re continuing to expand our distribution footprint, partnering with Gopuff, Hungryroot, Good Eggs, Foxtrot, and Amazon with dalci currently recognized as a Top 10 Best Seller. We recently raised a $1.5M pre-seed round of funding to expand our retail distribution, team, and product offerings. 

You are a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Lead, who has an interest in working at a startup and shares our passion for disrupting the bakery & sweet snack category. As the Operations Lead, you will be responsible for assisting in our day-to-day product operations, ensuring all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way. Responsibilities 
  • The Operations Lead (or supply chain lead) will be responsible for managing end-to-end performance and processes for dalci's supply chain, including sourcing, culinary, FSQA, manufacturing, warehouse & logistics, sales operations & planning, and operations finance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all supply chain partners and any founder/investor recurring or ad hoc requests
Procurement
  • Ensure supply continuity of raw materials to support future production and sales plans
  • Negotiate best-in-class pricing and contract terms when applicable
  • Manage consistency of quality to minimize product quality variability 
  • Create component specifications 
  • Onboard new suppliers
  • Manage existing supplier relationships
  • Support Innovation plan with new ingredient development
  • Assess raw material risk in a dynamic, constrained supply chain environment
Manufacturing
  • Provide exemplary relationship management skills to our manufacturing partners so that they prioritize dalci production runs
  • Ensure OTIF for all purchase orders issued
  • Manage production scheduling
  • Ensure manufacturers have accurate, up-to-date forecasts
  • Ensure proper capacity planning and redundancy plans are in place, with the possibility of sourcing new manufacturers if needed
  • Ensure manufacturers are meeting sufficient FSQA standards
  • Create a reasonable yet aggressive continuous improvement + COGS reduction plan for the yield industry-standard per unit economics.
Food Safety
  • Ensure suppliers are meeting sufficient FSQA approval standards of supplier approval program
  • Schedule and project manage annual food safety audits with co-packers
  • Work with consultants to highlight major risks and work towards continuous improvement on critical items
Innovation
  • Work with the founder to create a roadmap for current SKU optimization and new SKU launches that are collaborative, realistic, and timely
  • Create Recipe Database and manage version control 
  • Identify any cost opportunities that can be supported through culinary optimization
  • Manage commercialization timelines to launch new flavors, packaging, and products
3PL Warehousing + Logistics
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling transport between manufacturers, distribution centers, and retailers within budget & while resolving any shipment issues
  • Communicate regularly with manufacturers and 3PL warehouse regarding all inbound & outbound planning as well as ensure accuracy & timeliness
  • Gather necessary information to track sales orders and purchase orders and send them to vendors in a timely manner
  • Ensure triple verification (purchase order, BOL / receiving log, invoice) matches up accurately.
Inventory Management
  • Daily maintenance of inbound & outbound order trackers, SKU & specification lists
  • Monitor & manage reporting for inventory levels of finished goods, ingredients, packaging & merchandise
  • Ensure inventory levels are accurate and there is company wide alignment on OTIF and target WOH 
Sales Operations
  • Support sales lead as needed in retail product setup with paperwork & promotional work
  • Serve as a point of contact for retail customer service and distributors to ensure product is picked up and arrives on time to Rainforest, UNFI, KeHE, or directly to retail
  • Reconciles invoices and spot patterns or issues in data
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • 3-5 years supply chain, procurement, logistics or operations experience
  • CPG Food industry knowledge a plus; experience working with Rainforest and UNFI Distributors a plus
  • Team player and “no task is too small” mentality
  • Excellent communication skills & attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects and people in different time zones and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Great time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience with Quickbooks, EDI, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets & Shopify
