The Sr Category Manager develops, executes and evaluates merchandising, product marketing, and product experience across brands/channels. The Sr Category Manager drives invention, improvements to and implementation of product marketing through assisting in direction of overall look, feel and development of the category’s content, style guidelines and merchandising. The Sr Category Manager works cross functionally to assist in creating resources and campaigns that promote brand awareness, acquire new customers and drive innovation for the Caliva brand in customer experience.

  • Manages a team and defines their vision and goal.
  • Owns all key traffic drivers for the category and works as a category advocate across teams/departments.
  • Interfaces with multiple product teams and communicates effectively across project stakeholders; works with cross functional teams and internal teams, including marketing, product, retail and digital, to define, drive and launch improvements to category/brand experience.
  • Works directly with department leads to curate project vision from RFPs to execution. Owns and manages project scope, budget and schedules for multiple fixed scope and retainer projects with parallel timelines.
  • Assists in managing relationships with key agencies for creative, media planning and production to help keep projects on time; monitor project budgets and manage on a weekly basis.
  • Conceptualizes, designs and executes online and offline marketing initiatives to meet business goals and broaden awareness of Caliva brand/products across all channels.
  • Provides innovative and creative ideas across brand portfolio; Assists in defining brand identities across entire company portfolio and creating supporting documents, collateral and guidelines; review and provide constructive feedback in design process.
  • Understands and uses customer-facing metrics, data and merchandising tactics to guide customer decision making.
  • Meets business goals while ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
  • Assists head of Brand in managing portfolio of brands and products, helping to oversee all creative, design and packaging needs, product identities, campaigns and corporate communication.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
What You Have
  • Ability to multitask, working on several projects at once, often with tight deadlines and with careful attention to detail; effective at managing time, budget and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written).
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and proving results.
  • Working knowledge of/proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing and brand communication.
  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically; excellent analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to articulate rationale to internal teams and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well across multiple teams/departments.
  • Ability to comprehend projects at a high level to anticipate and avoid potential roadblocks.
  • Proven ability to work as a member of an integrated team and independently in an open office environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in marketing and running a team.
Working Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.

Job Requirements
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers for data entry for 8 hours or more, some lifting, squatting, bending, some pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed and travel to other locations.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
  • Must pass a background check with local police department.
