The Company
Cairnspring Mills is a 5-year-old regional milling company located in the Skagit Valley of Washington that is leading a new craft flour movement in a $20B category. We produce fresh stone milled flours that are naturally nutritious and made from identity preserved grains sourced directly from local farmers in the Pacific Northwest. Our flours are being used by some of the best bakers and chefs in the world. Cairnspring has grown 28% a quarter for the past 10 quarters and is now selling into the grocery channel and DTC via our online store and we are poised to grow regionally and nationally in the next 12 months.

We’re looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial marketing professional who is passionate about doing this and more. Our ideal candidate has experience developing and executing marketing campaigns while building, managing and inspiring a team for a mission driven brand in the natural products industry. They will be comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines, lean budgets and evolving needs of a new business. Objectives of this Role
  • Establish positioning, identify target customers, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across Food Service, E-commerce and Natural Grocery channels in             better-for-you premium food segments.
  • Lead the creation and execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration.
  • Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete         with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics.
  • Work closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, and the marketing team to design, test and evolve customer acquisition, conversion and retention tactics.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Working in partnership with the creative team and managing creative consultants, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all                               marketing and public-facing communications, including trade, digital, and video assets.
  • Conceptualize and execute on multi-channel campaigns, ensuring the alignment of effective brand communications and messaging across all channels.
  • Develop and successfully execute highly effective digital, affiliate, consumer and trade marketing content and campaigns.
  • Successfully develop and manage digital strategy including website, email newsletter and social media presence.
  • Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate critical trial and velocities.
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of new and current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, to optimize the return on investment. 
  • Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
  • Manage the marketing budget day to day.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • Two to five years consumer products marketing experience. 
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience developing and managing marketing plans, budgets and campaigns.
  • Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy and affiliate marketing programs.
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity.
  • Experience with Shopify, Amazon and other E-commerce channel outlets. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in early stage companies and startups preferred
  • Familiarity with food process manufacturing preferred.
  • Supervisory experience highly desired.
  • Passion for baking is a plus.
