About The Position
The Front of House Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Café while ensuring the highest quality service and experiences for customers. They are responsible all front of house (FOH) operations.

REPORTS TO: Director of Hospitality
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Salary Exempt

SUMMARY: The Front of House Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Café while ensuring the highest quality service and experiences for customers.  They are responsible all front of house (FOH) operations. They will coach and educate front of house employees creating a positive workplace culture built on respecting our brand, our customers, and our team members, and will be part of Bell’s leadership team that is focused on Bell's Core Values. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery, Inc., and is accountable for the safety of the FOH team. Leads by example in order to be a safety role model for the department 
•Embraces how diversity and eccentricities make Bell’s a better company. Operates in a spirit of open and honest cooperation while valuing the inherent self-worth & dignity of every employee
•Motivates staff while sustaining a culture of positivity and accountability through coaching, engagement initiatives and mentorship 
•Provides an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of FOH employees
•Strong floor presence and employee-engaging leadership style.
•Ensure there is regular open and honest, consistent, two-way dialogue to support performance and Bell’s culture, and core values across the department and company. 
•Partners with HR to ensure successful recruitment of FOH employees and implementation of recruitment efforts
•Develops and delivers training to all FOH staff by overseeing the execution of delivery through the FOH leadership team; monitors and tracks efficiency of training through outcomes of service and success.
•Schedules and monitors FOH staff attendance records and corrects any problems through coaching or progressive discipline efforts
•Tracks and records FOH staff performance through documentation; performs corrective action if necessary
•Conducts annual performance reviews for FOH staff
•Oversees and ensures the review and submittal of bi-weekly payroll data for FOH staff
•Maintains and augments profitability and cost standards throughout Café operations through cost-saving initiatives; will be relied upon to assist in driving productivity standards (SPLH) throughout FOH team; will meet weekly with Director of Hospitality to review financial KPI’s
•Orders and maintains stock of supplies and equipment for FOH and is responsible for cost optimization of inventory through vendor management and relationship building
•Works to maintain and update the restaurant POS system
•Develops and oversees SOPs for inventory, banking, and service practices
•Oversees cash reconciliation and deposit 
•Represents the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer, client, and employee interactions and solicits guest feedback
•Remains up-to-date on all food and beverages available to customers
•Maintains and develops standards of service, food, and safety set forth by Bell’s, and the Director of Hospitality
•Coordinates and manages communication programs for the FOH department
•Ensures proper Open/Close and shift change duties are performed
•Maintains a full knowledge of policies and procedures for all downtown departments
•Ensures the responsible service of alcohol to customers and that all staff have current TiPS certifications and trainings.
•Ensures shift and staffing notes are entered in manager log
•Maintains beer knowledge: Has a strong knowledge of the beer industry and beer styles, knows proper glass ware, tiers & price points.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

•TIPS/TAM certified
•Quick thinker & problem solver
•Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work load to balance multiple projects
•Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office
•Positive attitude
•Basic math skills
•Ability to coordinate with other departments according to schedules and needs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
•Minimum of 3 years restaurant experience
•Minimum of 1 year management experience
•Minimum of HS Diploma or GED required
•Must be 21 years of age or older
•High level of professionalism
•Strong leadership skills with enthusiasm
•Experience working with Aloha
•Great passion for the hospitality and brewing industries

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb
•Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
•Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.; occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.; occasionally push, pull, or maneuver carts holding up to 100 lbs.; occasionally maneuver 165 lb. kegs
•Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
•Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
•Must consistently utilize all personal protective equipment per Bell’s Brewery, Inc. guidelines
