Role Responsibilities

This role's mission is to provide centralized support for the following job responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Period Close
  • Manage various monthly accruals including but not limited to storage and utilities, miscellaneous accounts payable, freight capitalization of on-hand bulk inventory
  • Prepare and park journal entries
  • Run and complete centralized portion of SAP and material ledger period close
  • Perform deferred revenue analysis for US/Canada and coordinate approvals with Regional Controllers
  • Maintain, update and distribute barrel capitalization reporting
  • Complete various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, as assigned

Account Analysis
  • Identify and help resolve purchase price variance issues related to US Supply Chain. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
    • Proactively supporting purchasers with purchase requisition/purchase order issues
    • Identifying and helping drive timely local resolution within same book period for purchase price variance created by incorrect SAP transactions such as incorrect goods receipt, wrong unit of measure on purchase order, etc
    • Helping coordinate correct accounting for expenses hitting purchase price variance which should be held elsewhere
    • Helping understand how to correct any inventory or material ledger implications resulting from purchase price variance issues and communicating to Financial Planning & Analysis team during close meetings
  • Update and distribute a weekly inventory waste file, booking all required adjustments during period close
  • Perform inventory reconciliation of 3rd party co-manufacturer and distribute to business partners
  • Monitor and adjust in-house co-manufacturing account transactions/postings
  • Maintain lease database for US Supply Chain/Operations
  • Manage clearing of inter-company bulk items
  • Manage submission and payment of KY Heavy Highway Tax and KY Intrastate Distance & Weight Tax forms
  • Ad Hoc projects and analysis as needed

Customs Compliance
  • Support import compliance risk areas such as accurate reporting of values, tariff classification and duty preference programs, e.g. United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA)
  • Track all inbound imported goods to ensure timely movement, receipt and customs clearance.
  • Develop and maintain database of harbor maintenance/merchandise processing fees utilizing US Customs' Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal and analyze true-up requirements based on transfer pricing adjustments by Corporate tax department
  • Analyze and record annual US Customs inter-company true-up

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education- Finance, Accounting or equivalent degree
  • Certifications/Licensure- CPA or MBA preferred
  • Years of experience- 5+ years work experience in Finance / Accounting
  • Level of experience- Accounting Analyst
  • Industry experience: Preferred
