About The Position
We’re looking for a dynamic self-starter for the role of Regional Sales Manager, Texas. This is an opportunity to get in at ground zero with a fun, energetic spirits brand based in Austin, TX.
The Regional Sales Manager will have a specific focus on growing our business in Texas and will be backed by an attractive incentive plan.  We are looking for a dedicated liquor sales professional who is a proven self-starter and excels in the relationship-driven business. As we work to expand our footprint and identify and implement opportunities, you will develop and execute the business plan, which includes calling on key accounts, developing and leading a sales team and managing our distribution network throughout Texas. 

This is a virtual, home office-based role with the ideal candidate located in the Austin area with secondary preference to those based in Dallas, San Antonio or Houston. Travel will be approximately 50%.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for a go-to market strategy that will increase customer loyalty, distribution growth, and company profitability by continuing to build relationships with existing retailers, distributors, and brokers. This includes the development of an annual forecast, budget, and sales plan. The Regional Sales Manager actively manages bottom up planning with each key account on an annual basis and sets quarterly and annual objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT

●      Develop annual business plan for all of our distributors within Texas
●      Execute short- and long-term volume and distribution plans and strategies for market
●      Outline and secure appropriate “tools” (pricing, marketing, manpower) to achieve plan goals
●      Ensure alignment and commitment of the distributor
●      Call on (Core) Key Accounts in the area to ensure distribution, ordering, programming, brand familiarity, staff trainings and proper visibility
●      Develop and maintain sales contact with all major customers and new prospects.
●      Maintain and expand existing distribution and volume sales
●      Meet with the distributor business manager to ensure that sales objectives are being met while remaining within assigned budgets
●      Schedule and conduct distributor team meetings to inform and educate sales representatives of brand standards to optimize sales performance
●      Manage market work with distributor sales representatives
●      Submit and review a weekly account report, Monthly Calendar and Sales Planner
●      Maintain accurate records regarding distributor profiles, retail and on-premise distribution, and competitive activity and pricing
●      Review and evaluate distributor depletions, shipments and inventories
●      Review distributor accounts sold and points of distribution against plan (quarterly)
●      Manage all sales expenses and budgets for market/region
●      Ensure monthly and mid-monthly reporting is reviewed/completed for all major distributors
●      Become proficient in distributor pricing (Margin analysis (distributor and retailer), Deal structures, Channel or customer pricing)

CUSTOMER-FIRST APPROACH AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Ensure necessary face time planning, programming, execution and follow-up in assigned key accounts
  • Regular and consistent account calls and maintenance
  • Track and report on monthly depletions, trends and programming lifts through VIP and internal systems
  • Develop professional and tactical relationships with key account gatekeepers and decision makers
  • Embrace a customer-first mentality and a partnership
RETAIL EXECUTION AND MARKET INTELLIGENCE
Ensure all Rock Sound Rum programming is executed with excellence in the marketplace
  • Proper pricing across all customers
  • In-store presence is meeting communicated standards at the shelf, on the floor or on a menu
  • Distribution is in-line with understood authorizations
  • Utilize or develop local programming that will increase sales in each channel
  • Develop market specific brand standards and communicate them to wholesalers; ensure standards are enforced
  • Consistently survey the marketplace to “inspect what you expect” and to keep up-to-date on all emerging trends
  • Be known for this and become best-in-class
INTERNAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Ensure that you keep current on all internal and external business responsibilities

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

●      At least 5 years business/sales experience or equivalent education
●      Bachelor’s degree; business related preferred
●      Minimum of 5 years of spirits, wine, or beer experience
●      Successful alcohol beverage sales management experience including both on and off premise sales
●      Comprehensive understanding of how the beverage alcohol business functions
●      Knowledge of products, wine industry, competitive markets, brands and customers’ issues and typical needs
●      Ability to develop brand-building plans that are commercially viable and implementable
●      Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
●      Strong oral and written communication skills
●      Strong analytical skills
●      Good written and verbal communications
●      Ability to analyze and think strategically
●      Attention to detail
●      Public speaking and presentation skills
●      Proven entrepreneurial spirit, strong teamwork skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a frequent basis, carry up to 40 lbs. & push and pull up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis; ability to sit and work at a desk for long periods of time; requires ability to walk and stand; reach outward and upward, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend; requires hand and finger dexterity for keyboarding and working at computer for extended periods of time. Additional physical requirements required as related to domestic/international travel via air and ground transportation.
