About The Position
Leads in the development of channel strategies, channel go-to-market and pricing guidelines, channel business analysis, and shopper insights and management of key channel messaging.
The Director of National Accounts leads in the development of channel strategies, channel go-to-market and pricing guidelines, channel business analysis leading to identification of major business-building initiatives, and shopper insights and management of key channel messaging. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet/exceed annual new and existing customer revenue and profit 
  • Must have strong existing relationships with major national chains 
  • Reviews sales results and customer satisfaction measures and compares them to established objectives, and takes actions to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to meet expectations 
  • Manage existing accounts to drive revenue and profit 
  • Contact and schedule appointments with potential and existing accounts 
  • Work collaboratively with team to develop monthly and quarterly priorities for execution at retail 
  • Management of any pricing and contract concessions to guidelines as outlined by sales management 
  • Communicate competitive positions and activities 
  • Responsible for recapping the success/failure of key marketing and sales campaigns 
  • Manage and control trade spending and travel and entertainment budgets 
  • Manage and direct a team of key account managers 
  • Responsible for forecasting revenue
  • Responsible for broker management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to develop relationships at all levels of customer 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to present, negotiate, and successfully close proposals/contracts within Company guidelines 
  • Strong capability in working effectively with team members of all levels
  • Sales, Marketing, Category Management, or Consumer/Shopper Marketing experience
  • Top National Account Customer Experience/Headquarter Penetration in either a direct selling or partnership resource capacity (or equivalent transferable skills from other related CPG Positions ie. Marketing, Customer Marketing, Category Management)
  • Advanced project/process skill set, including experience in P&L’s and financial analysis
  • CPG related work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience selling at Headquarter Level in consumer packaged goods, hardlines, pharmacy, or sundries categories
  • Costco (Club), Large Scale Mass Merchandiser, Limited SKU Retailers, or Dollar/Discount National Retailer, Convenience and Grocery Stores experience
