About The Position

  • Responsible for the direct procurement of wine/spirit brands from a subset of assigned suppliers
  • Collaborate with Brand Management team to validate customer demand, identify sales goals, establish depletion forecasts and perform product requirement planning
  • Aggregate internal sources of demand to build rolled-up forecasts
  • Recognize and analyze sales trends (popularity, seasonality, price sensitivity)
  • Implement procurement plans in support of sales goals and depletion forecasts
  • Understand and apply the tenants of time-phased inventory planning; ensure supply chain plans sufficiently support sales forecasts and target dates
  • Generate purchase orders for submission to suppliers
  • Define and maintain par levels and lead times for each supplier
  • Optimize inventory asset management to achieve best of class performance by providing the highest service levels with the most efficient investment (days/dollars)
  • Work with suppliers, freight service providers and internal logistics team members to obtain timely and cost effective delivery services
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholder groups
  • Play a strategic role in fostering relationships with suppliers to meet requirements
  • Lead weekly/monthly calls with suppliers to address action items (forecast changes, supply chain concerns, product reliability issues)
  • Analyze and interpret relevant procurement and supply chain data to improve processes and performance
  • Track service level agreements with suppliers to ensure adherence to shipment plans
  • Work with warehouse operations staff to assist with receiving and stock rotation issues
  • Assist internal A/R team to resolve invoice, billing, and credit memo discrepancies
  • Assist internal Customer Service team to facilitate product returns and transfers
  • In an effort to mitigate inventory issues, identify items to Brand Management team that have either slow-moving and obsolete inventory or excessive backorder accruals
  • Maintain item specifications and special notes within ERP system
  • Adhere to all Federal and State regulations and procedures to maintain legal compliance
  • Crosstrain with coworkers in order to provide coverage for tasks/responsibilities, as necessary
  • BS/BA in supply chain management, hospitality administration, business management, operations management or a related field required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain, sourcing, planning, procurement, logistics, or operations
  • APICS certification a plus (CPIM, CSCP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/JD Edwards, SAP, etc.) and business intelligence tools (Diver, Cognos, EIS)
  • Outstanding communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal)
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and analytic aptitude
  • Ability to multitask within a dynamic and fluid business environment
