About The Position
Join the exciting launch of the Fiji born and produced portfolio of exciting rums from the RUM Co. of Fiji. As the SoCal BDM you'll be responsible for on and off trade relationships and sales growth. Reports into the agency Sweet&Chilli.

RUM Co. of Fiji are the finest quality rums from the island nation of Fiji. The rum is made with 100% pure Fijian sugar cane and water and has a range of products that fit in both broad market and the super-premium sector. The opportunity to bring this brand to the US Market for the first time is tremendous, and the growth potential is enormous.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an excellent understanding of both the on and off-trade, with both sales and bartending experience. This position will be working closely with the distributor, so distributor experience is a plus. We seek a high-energy, confident and driven individual to join our team as the Southern California BDM for RUM Co. of Fiji.

This person will report directly to the Company and to RUM Co. of Fiji Brand Manager.

The Southern California BDM RUM Co. of Fiji will be responsible for opening new accounts, driving sales, and working with the distributor to identify and aggregate new business opportunities. The education and engagement of Key Trade (On and Off Premise, Brokers and Wholesalers) is also under the umbrella of the BDM's, key priorities. The BDM will also drive awareness of the brand through tastings, training, and trade shows when and where applicable. The BDM will be directly responsible for a key account list in both the on and off-premise for the SoCal market. 
-        40-50 hours per week, with 5 hours towards reporting and expenses
-        Open accounts in conjunction with the distributor
-        Build and grow relationships with accounts to drive product rotation and generate brand engagement 
-        Engage the off-premise market in independent and chain accounts
-        Utilize strong on-trade industry connections to help gain distribution in on-premise
-        Increase awareness of brand through tastings, training, and trade shows when applicable
-        Be the “face” of the brand in market
-        Report to weekly to RUM Co. of Fiji USA team on wins, opportunities, key trends and competitors in market
-        Brand Building:  Put the trade at the heart of the conversation, ensure local marketing plans are exceptionally executed, support all nationally lead activities at the local level, act as an unwavering portfolio guardian
-        Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent 
-        Minimum 6 years relevant industry experience
-        Proficiency with Excel, Word and Google Docs
-        Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
-        Strong oral and written communications skills
-        Excellent public speaking & presentation skills.
-        Professional manner and strong work ethic
