Start It Sunday is ForceBrands’ initiative designed to raise awareness around the ‘Sunday scaries’ (the anxiety that affects 76 percent of Americans that is caused by the impending return to work). The motivational campaign empowers people to fear no Sunday and take on every Monday.

We checked in with Michael Houlihan and Bonnie Harvey, the founders of Barefoot Wine, to learn what their Sunday routines look like now that they’ve launched, grown, and sold the world’s largest wine brand. Find out what these innovative entrepreneurs are up to now and how they’re continuing to stay actively involved in the industry — in other words, they haven’t kicked off their shoes.

ForceBrands: What does your Sunday routine look like (ie: do you prep for the week ahead; do you relax)?
Michael and Bonnie: We like to relax on Sunday and take a walk in nature. However, we do review the calendar for the week ahead so we understand what’s coming up and can wrap our heads around it. We have a Monday list that we add to whenever we think of something. We add whatever needs to be taken care of to the list instead of carrying it around in our brain and having it distract us from having a good time.

FB: How do you approach the start of each work week?
M&B: Each work week begins with follow-ups. Whether we’re asking people for information, or are looking for speaking events or seeking their cooperation on a project, we like to get back to them on Monday before noon. We use the follow-up program on Outlook.

FB: What are some tips for motivating on Monday?
M&B: Monday is a great day to initiate new projects. It’s also a great day to follow up with everyone you are working with. Ideally, you should get up on Monday morning and go out for a walk, breathe some fresh air, and put things into perspective so you can start your workweek right.
