About The Position

In alignment with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.'s values, this position pursues excellence in all aspects of our Food and Beverage Operations.  The RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER is responsible for developing people and processes to uphold Sierra Nevada’s Food and Beverage ethos: “The purpose and intent of the Food and Beverage Department is to deliver an unmatchable face-to-face interaction which our guests will remember far after they’ve left our properties.” The Restaurant General Manager acts as a dynamic, passionate customer service professional with a keen sense of proper guest relations, drives and leads both our Front and Back of the House teams, and demonstrates a strong financial acumen with great foresight.

DUTIES
  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant, onsite event venue (banquets, concerts, conferences, etc.) and a remote tasting room, making final decisions on matters of importance and overseeing P&L
  • Effectively manage both Front and Back-of-house operations
  • Ensure positive guest experiences in all areas of property and when needed, take action/respond accordingly to guest issues and or complaints in a timely matter
  • Hire, train, and develop responsible and effective professionals who demonstrate their passion for customer satisfaction and who are empowered to suggest new ideas
  • Adhere to SNBC's standards of food and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Understand and maximize financial performances through honest and capable accounting practices
  • Ensure all financial reporting, invoices, and personnel/payroll related materials are secured, submitted accurately, and in the parameters set forth by SNBC
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate staffing plan for proper execution at all times
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments and support collaboration throughout the business for the best customer experience, and growth of SNBC employees
  • Uphold SNBC's safety and security requirements and procedures, in all aspects, in order to protect the company and its employees at all times
  • Uphold standards which exceed regulatory industry standards for health code, quality, and cleanliness
  • Follow business practices that are within the law and consistent with all policies and procedures set forth by SNBC
  • Act as a role model for the team, consistently demonstrating Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. values
  • Support the Marketing Produced Events team to produce impactful, meaningful onsite events to increase the value of our brand

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience
  • Minimum FIVE years of successful restaurant management experience in a full service restaurant with at least TWO years in the role of General Manager required
  • Bachelor’s or Culinary Degree preferred
  • Profit and Loss Statement exposure - minimum of two years required; budget writing experience preferred
  • Proven track record of hiring, training, and developing high performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in project management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to execute and manage details for multiple projects while maintaining alignment with and focus on company level strategy and goals
  • An interest in and love of craft beer, local and artisanal food, and dynamic operations is required
  • Sound knowledge of restaurant compliance requirements, on and off-site regulations (related to food service for festivals and events)  
  • Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional customer service
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to effectively use scheduling and budget systems
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and apply appropriate judgment in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure food and service meet appropriate standards
  • Ability to effectively respond to feedback from customers, peers, employees and management
  • Ability to consistently maintain professionalism, collaboration, and self-motivation
Work Environment
  • Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with events often taking place in the elements in all four seasons
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds without assistance and maneuver 168 pounds safely with proper body mechanics
  • Move large quantities of food products with carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other moving equipment
  • This position will require you to stand, walk and be on your feet for long periods
  • Ladder climbing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus in various levels of lighting     
Additional REQUIREMENTS to consider before applying
  • Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Monthly travel required to other locations and throughout the U.S. for training, branding, and team building opportunities
  • Occasional car travel within a 30-mile radius required
  • The selected candidate will be required to obtain a valid California Food Handler’s Card prior to start date
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with an exemplary driving record free of any major violations in the last FIVE years
  • The selected candidate must pass a post offer, pre-employment background check
  • You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
