About The Position

Overview
To strengthen our Finance team, we are seeking a Payroll Manager to manage all activities within the payroll function. From the day-to-day responsibilities to the selection and implementation of new systems, the Payroll Manager will report to the Controller and partner with the People and Finance teams to build efficient and scalable payroll processes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain payroll policy recommendations, procedures, forms and systems
  • Partner with the People team to review and execute compensation related changes including new hires, terminations, bonuses and promotions
  • Manage payroll data on a daily basis, including time and attendance
  • Manage the payroll cycle for all employees (salary and hourly), across domestic and international entities, with close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and eliminate any subsequent adjustments to payroll
  • Administer the 401(K) plan, ensuring accuracy with participant contributions
  • Perform various journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger support to reconcile all payroll related transactions to NetSuite
  • Partner with the People and Finance teams to provide monthly analysis and reporting on payroll related metrics
  • Lead year-end processes to ensure accurate reporting of all employee data
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external laws and regulatory guidance by maintaining process to adhere to requirements, coordinating with applicable external stakeholders, and advising management on any needed actions
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • 5+years of experience in end-to-end payroll management
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge payroll-related legal and tax compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to self-start necessary projects and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing payroll function in a scaling startup company
  • Experience migrating off of a professional employer organization (PEO)
  • Experience in the selection and implementation of a new human resource information (HRIS) system and payroll system
  • Experience with the following platforms: Justworks, ADP, Voya, Carta (eShares), NetSuite
  • Experience with multi-state and international payroll processes
  • Experience processing payroll with a large number of non-exempt employees
