District Sales Manager – Metro New York (ON-Premise)

Summary: 
Under the direction of the Regional Director, the District Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales execution in the designated area, achieving all volume and distribution goals for The ROC HOUSE BRANDS portfolio through all channels of ON trade including independent bars and restaurants, chains, hotels, etc. The District Sales Manager will also be responsible for executing pricing/programming strategies in coordination with the RD.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for building and owning relationships in the area with the distributor network
  • Lead in developing and implementing annual operating plan which includes financial, volume, and distribution objectives
  • Manage depletion and distribution objectives for the ON-premise retail channel
  • Assist in the development of pricing and programming for the assigned territory adhering to company guidelines and ensuring the best return on investment. 
  • Schedule and lead effective distributor sales meetings (GSM’s) with all levels of management
  • Introduce creative sales execution concepts, share across state lines/regions if successful and aspire to be a leader in best practices
  • Work in the market 3-4 times per week making regular sales calls to retailers throughout the territory independently or on ride-widths with distributor sales personnel 
  • Develop and manage a retail key account list building and strengthening key relationships that will help to foster additional RHB market share
  • Conduct tastings, seminars, and brand education events in conjunction with key off premise retail accounts further promoting RHB signature items
  • Administrative responsibilities include: completing weekly market report, monthly recap summary, VIP business analysis, tasting calendar, budget tracker, and any relevant travel & entertainment expenses on a timely basis
  • Ensure all sales practices are compliant with state & company policies/law
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • BA/BS degree and/or 3-5 years of sales experience in the wine and spirits beverage industry with knowledge and passion for building relationships and developing emerging spirit brands
  • Must have strong understanding and working knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry retail environment as it relates to the Metro New York market
  • Must be home based in Metro New York Area
  • Must be adaptive to change within organization and industry
  • Results oriented, innovation, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work and succeed in dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed (60% travel) 
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong MS Office skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working Conditions: 
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands; 
  • Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 35 pounds; 
  • Sedentary office environment; 
  • This position requires lots of auto travel must be able to drive and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Often will be required to climb stairs and walk small distances to key account offices
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.);
